Come and spend a little time with your neighbours this Halloween. We’re getting together to look after Rainbow Park, share some stories, light up our pumpkins and add a little sparkle to the neighbourhood.
Come on your own, bring family, friends or neighbours. All ages are welcome, and you can join us for as much or as little as you like.
What’s happening?
3.30 pm – Litter Pick
We’ll start with a community litter pick in Rainbow Park. Equipment will be provided, so just come along and lend a hand.
4.30 pm – Stories in the Park
Gather round for stories for young and old as the afternoon begins to fade. Suitable for all ages.
5.00 pm – Light Up Rainbow Park
Bring your carved pumpkin and we’ll provide an LED tealight. We’ll light them together and create a glowing pumpkin display in the park.
After the light up – Twilight Sparkle Walk
Join us for a short sparkly walk along Langton Road (and around the park). Bring an LED lantern, torch, fairy lights or anything else that glows. Fancy dress is very welcome, but everyday clothes are absolutely fine too.
Please dress for the weather and remember that it will be getting dark.
Need a pumpkin?
We want everyone to be able to take part.
We’ll have a limited number of free pumpkins for local households who might otherwise miss out. They’ll be available to collect locally between 27 and 29 October, ready to take home, carve and bring back on Saturday.
If you’re able to buy your own pumpkin, please do. It means we can make sure the free ones reach people who need them.

Everyone is welcome
Come in fancy dress or everyday clothes, with or without a pumpkin. Come for the litter pick, the stories, the lights, the walk, or all of it.
It’s simply an opportunity to look after our park, meet the people who live around us and make some happy neighbourhood memories together.
